As Development Manager, Julie works out of Hickory, NC with a focus on expanding Marlboro Development Team’s (MDT) reach in North Carolina and Virginia.

Julie joined MDT with over 24 years of experience in economic development in the Charlotte region of North Carolina. During her career she has worked with both national and international companies such as Cataler NA, Crate & Barrel, Gusmer Enterprises, American Fuji Seal, Flower Foods, Arhaus, FiServ and GKN Driveline to attract over $632M in new capital investment and 5,000 new jobs.  Along with economic development, grants administration and public budgeting, Julie brings to MDT extensive experience with governmental planning and finance.

Julie earned the internationally recognized designation of Certificated Economic Developer in 2009. In addition to a Master of Public Administration degree from Appalachian State University, Julie received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Lenoir-Rhyne University. She is also a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute.

Julie has served as Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Campaign Chairman for the Catawba County United Way and as Vice-President of Lenoir Rhyne University’s Business Council. She is a member of the North Carolina Economic Development Association and International Economic Development Council.
