Ben carries out a complex and unique role for the development team in his role as Chief Operating Officer.  While Ben’s primary duties are focused on overseeing all engineering and operations work, substation development, warehouse management, and Right-of-Way maintenance for MDP Electric Cooperative, MDT’s parent company, he is also an integral part of MDT’s management team.  In addition to providing key information on site infrastructure and developability, which ensures that MDT is able to operate and advance projects in the most advantageous way possible, Ben also manages the IT department as well as the company fleet vehicles and facilities.

His background includes 25 years at Santee Copper,working in power generation and delivery, transmission operations, and managing the bulk power system. Now, with nearly 10 years at MPD Electric, Ben ensures MPD provides the most reliable electricity in the state.

Ben is a registered Professional Engineer in South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Business Administration degree from The Citadel.
